REMSCHEID, 7 July 2008 – The WINGS POY solution introduced at the ITMA 2007 in Munich has impressed polyester manufacturers around the world. Around 1,000 machines have been sold to customers in India during the first half of 2008 alone.
Garden Silk Mills, Alok and Wellknown Polyester will be the first Indian companies to incorporate the new winding technology. New production facilities in Surat, Silvassa and Daman will be equipped with this cost-effective system. “WINGS represent’s a milestone for the textile industry. This technology will revolutionise the world of textiles”, said Surendra Jiwarajka, Joint Managing Director of Alok Industries Ltd.. The new investment will enable Alok Industries Ltd. to increase its polyester production by 300%, making it the 3rd largest polyester manufacturer in India. Alok Industries Ltd. is already the largest texturing company in India and a leading filament yarn exporter.
