REMSCHEID/SHANGHAI, 28 July 2008 – The 1000th FK6-1000 texturing machine manufactured by Oerlikon (China) Technology Co., Ltd. was delivered to Jiangsu Shenghong Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. A certificate marking the milestone was given to CEO Miao Han Gen during today’s Oerlikon Textile press conference at the ITMA Asia & CITME 2008. The Management of Jiangsu Shenghong attended as guests of honour.

25.07.2008 First PTT production plant begins operation at Jiangsu Zhonglu Technology Co., Ltd.
REMSCHEID, 25 July 2008 – Oerlikon Barmag is celebrating the start up of its first production plant for the manufacture of polytrimethylene terephthalate fully drawn yarn (PTT FDY) at Jiangsu Zhonglu Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shenghong Group. With 32 spinning positions, this PTT plant is currently the largest in China. Located in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, the plant achieved the desired yarn quality upon commencement of operations.

For the very first time, the revolutionary POY concept is being tested under production conditions at our long-term development partner, Trevira GmbH. This marks the kick-off of a trial phase at the Bobingen site destined to last several months, during which high-end yarns with various titers and parameters will be manufactured for the automobile industry using the WINGS systems.

Remscheid, April 29, 2008 – the textile division of the Swiss technology group, OC Oerlikon, has successfully concluded the 2007 financial year, considerably exceeding the performances of the previous years. Both turnover and profit rose significantly. Turnover increased from CHF 2,148 million (pro forma) to CHF 2,719 million, while the profit (EBIT) rose by 205.9 percent (pro forma) to CHF 208 million. To this end, the division particularly experienced profitable growth as a result of the boom within the staple yarn market and with its excellent market position for winding and rotor spinning machines.
