Oerlikon Barmag craft winders stand for extraordinary quality, high speeds, optimal change security and profitability. Customized variants of the CRAFT® craft winders are used for manufacturing various yarns such as POY, FDY or industrial yarn.

The CRAFT® system is synonymous with:

  • highest precision and performance linked with
  • high speed potential, revolver head principle and fully-automated thread transfer and
  • optimal package build by means of special software

WINGS, Oerlikon Barmag’s new Winding INtegrated Godet Solution,
is a complete PES POY winding machine based on the ACW® winder. The majority of yarn guiding elements is rotating with the yarn with a minimum build up of friction and thus less stress to the yarn. WINGS units can be arranged in such a condensed way that for a given production capacity about 25 percent of the required floor space can be saved.

ACW® craft winders
More than 20,000 ACW® units have been sold since its presentation at the ITMA 1999. ACW® craft winders with 6, 8, 10, 12 or 16 yarn-ends process standard, micro and high-count yarns with a mechanical speed potential of a maximum of 4,000 m/min (POY).


The ASW winder
ASW is the automatic version of the globally well renowned SW groove roller winders. Equipped with groove roller traverse system they are the ideal tool for godetless POY processes. Available with chuck lengths of 600mm, 920 m and 1,200 mm. Currently the maximum take-up speed of the ASW winders is 5,000 m/min.
