COCOON – a new quality is born. |
A quantum leap for the manual texturing machine industry |
|
In 1994, Barmag launched the FK6-1000 manual texturing machine – the original. The technological advances made over the years have come close to the boundaries of the FK6 concept, and innovations have recently been extremely limited. |

Oerlikon Barmag’s fully-automatic MPS was a quantum leap – and the Cocoon concept derived from it will revolutionize the manual texturing machines industry:
- The use of godets as drive elements significantly reduces the energy consumption and ensures more even yarn quality for each position;
- For the overall machine, the central drive unit guarantees the same speed for all positions and hence “position evenness”;
- The highly-efficient ATT take-up unit guarantees optimum, reproducible packages even in the case of non-standard requirements;
- The integrated, proven UNITENS® system sets standards in online quality monitoring.

|
A special detail solution worthy of mention is the 10-for-9 concept. A Cocoon machine with 10 sections requires the same space as an FK6 with 9 sections, allowing upgrading without requiring alterations to the building.
