14.04.2009 The first eFK texturing machine goes to China
REMSCHEID, April 14, 2009 – The first eFK-type texturing machines will be installed in China. A contract for ten machines – which premiered at the ITMA Asia 2008 – was recently signed with Jinxing (Fujian) Chemical Fibre and Textile Industry Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Fujian Jinxing Group. The decisive factor for the contract was the energy-efficient godet technology, which Oerlikon Barmag has been successfully using in its MPS- and COCOON-type texturing machines for many years now.

16.03.2009 WINGS conquers China
REMSCHEID, March 16, 2009 – the first POY system with WINGS winding units in China started producing successfully at Zhejiang Tong Kun at the beginning of the year. In terms of the commissioning, the WINGS concept once again proved that it keeps its promises. The polyester POY spinning system with 48 positions was assembled, commissioned and signed off in a record time of only 18 days.

REMSCHEID/DAMAN, November 15, 2008 – The first POY production system equipped with WINGS has been commissioned at Wellknown Polyesters Ltd. in Daman, India. 25.07.2008 First PTT production plant begins operation at Jiangsu Zhonglu Technology Co., Ltd.
REMSCHEID, 25 July 2008 – Oerlikon Barmag is celebrating the start up of its first production plant for the manufacture of polytrimethylene terephthalate fully drawn yarn (PTT FDY) at Jiangsu Zhonglu Technology Co., Ltd., an affiliate of Shenghong Group. With 32 spinning positions, this PTT plant is currently the largest in China. Located in the Chinese province of Jiangsu, the plant achieved the desired yarn quality upon commencement of operations.

REMSCHEID, May 5, 2008 – only 3 days after delivery, the first two WINGS units commenced yarn production under real conditions. For the very first time, the revolutionary POY concept is being tested under production conditions at our long-term development partner, Trevira GmbH. This marks the kick-off of a trial phase at the Bobingen site destined to last several months, during which high-end yarns with various titers and parameters will be manufactured for the automobile industry using the WINGS systems.

Remscheid, April 29, 2008 – the textile division of the Swiss technology group, OC Oerlikon, has successfully concluded the 2007 financial year, considerably exceeding the performances of the previous years. Both turnover and profit rose significantly. Turnover increased from CHF 2,148 million (pro forma) to CHF 2,719 million, while the profit (EBIT) rose by 205.9 percent (pro forma) to CHF 208 million. To this end, the division particularly experienced profitable growth as a result of the boom within the staple yarn market and with its excellent market position for winding and rotor spinning machines.
